WHO ARE WE?

A small, but growing team of 5 women, working from homes all over the U.S. but coming together to spread calligraphy and creativity to as many people as possible.

Our mission is to help people get past the negative bullshit blocking their creativity and have fun pursuing their calligraphy dreams. (Oh, and we embrace self-expression and curse words, so if that delights you, then great! You’re our people.)

Crooked Calligraphy was started in 2016 by Shinah Chang - a former corporate lawyer who quit six years ago with no backup plan in place. Shinah used to work 80+ hours a week making rich companies richer. She did NOT want to re-create that hustle mentality in her own company. So, we do HIGH-QUALITY work. We make an IMPACT in the world. We show up on time and do what we say we’re going to do. But we also know the importance of balance and believe that we do our best work when we're in alignment, not stressed out.


WHO ARE YOU?

An adaptable, proactive, growth-minded person who loves systems, organization, and data analysis. Someone who can come up with their own great ideas on how to make our company better.

If you are looking for a traditional work environment with strict hierarchies, this is not the place for you.

This position will start part-time and grow steadily in terms of hours and responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a good grasp of technology and systems, especially those used by online course creators. Someone who is familiar with funnels, launches, and email marketing.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the following platforms and software:

  • ConvertKit

  • Squarespace

  • Teachable

  • DeadlineFunnel

  • Leadpages

  • EasyWebinar

  • Pinterest

  • Facebook Groups

You must also:

  • Be a quick learner who is able to work proactively and independently

  • Be organized and detail-oriented (in fact, if you’re reading this, include the word “leapfrog” somewhere in your application, ok?)

  • Enjoy optimizing using systems, processes, software, etc. 

  • Enjoy analyzing numbers and data. (i.e. spreadsheets really float your boat)

  • Be willing to learn new platforms and come up with ways to do things better

  • Be looking for responsibility and GROWTH in this position

  • Enjoy communicating clearly and openly, and receiving honest feedback

This position is NOT for you if:

  • You like being micromanaged

  • You want to chat with me all-day

  • You ask questions BEFORE googling or doing some basic research

  • You sit and twiddle your thumbs if I have not given you enough tasks to fill your time

  • You make the same mistakes multiple times

  • You just want to learn how to start your own creative business but have no interest in tech, logistics, systems, or spreadsheets.


HOURS/TIMING:

  • To start, about two hours a day every weekday. (Approximately 40 hours/month). With room to grow.

  • We’ll start with a 30-day trial period, and then have another check-in at 90 days, to ensure we are a great fit.

PERKS OF THIS JOB:

  • Completely remote, so you can work from home in your pajamas

  • Flexible. As long as you check in once daily, and respond to all customer support emails within 24 hours (on business days), you can complete tasks on your own schedule.

  • If you have most of the skills we are looking for but need to learn more about one or two of them, we are willing to purchase a course to help train you.

  • Our team! We have high standards, but we communicate them clearly. (Absolutely no diva antics around here.)

  • Quarterly learning opportunities.

PAY

  • $20/hr


Below is a list of detailed tasks that WE need help with:

RECURRING TASKS

  • Respond to student inquiries related to tech and logistics

  • Check for and handle failed payments 

  • Set-up bi-monthly Live Q&A Sessions in Zoom, schedule reminder emails for students

  • Check Weekly Project Lessons to ensure students get feedback on time

  • Quarterly email scrubbing

  • Update/improve email template database


LONG-TERM PROJECTS

  • Constantly updating/reforming our Launch process

  • Updating systems/automation to streamline efficiency
